What I build

Full-stack: from the frontend to the database

Full-stack means I take care of every layer of the project: the interface users see, the logic that runs on the server, the database, then hosting and going live. For you, the consequence is simple: nobody to coordinate between a designer, a frontend developer and a backend developer. A question about the project always has a single address.

I do not champion a single technology. The right tool depends on the project: a business website often needs neither a framework nor a database, whereas a business application with several users and access rights does. I explain each technical choice when it arises, so that you know what you are buying and what it implies for the future.

How a project unfolds

  1. First conversation: a few lines by email or a call to understand what is not working today.
  2. Scoping: who uses the tool, how often, what must work from day one and what can wait. I go into detail in Ce que je demande avant de coder une ligne (in French).
  3. Prototype: a first clickable version to test the idea before investing in full development.
  4. Staged development: regular deliveries you can try out, rather than a tunnel of several months.
  5. Going live: hosting, domain name, HTTPS certificate, basic SEO and checks on mobile.

An example right in front of you

This site is built on the same principles: HTML and CSS written by hand, with no framework or tracking tool, hosted in Europe and published automatically with every change. The result: a page that displays in a fraction of a second and gets the top score on all four Google Lighthouse audits (performance, accessibility, best practices, SEO). That is not an end in itself, but it is the standard I apply to my clients’ projects.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a custom website or application cost?

The price depends on the scope: number of screens, data to manage, integrations with other tools. After a first conversation and the scoping, I propose a detailed quote broken down by stage, so that each amount corresponds to an identifiable deliverable.

How long does it take to put a project online?

A business website is usually a matter of weeks, a business application a matter of months. The scoping settles what must work from day one and what can come later, which often allows a faster first launch.

Do I need to be in Brussels to work with Veden?

No. Veden is based in Brussels and an in-person meeting remains possible, but most of the work goes very well remotely, by video call and email.

Why a single point of contact rather than an agency?

You speak directly to the person who designs and writes the code: no relay between a salesperson, a project manager and a developer, so less information is lost. When a project genuinely needs a team, I say so and point you to DFD Interactive. The two ways of working are compared in Un interlocuteur ou une équipe (in French).
