Why a team for these projects

A touch kiosk installed in a museum or at a trade stand is not just an application. You have to think about the physical station, ergonomics for an audience that has never seen the interface, robustness over days of unsupervised use, multilingual content. At DFD Interactive, we are three complementary profiles — development, business strategy and interaction design — with Diego-Paul Soria Garcia and François Evrard. This is what allows us to move these projects forward in parallel.

What we build

Projects deployed in front of real visitors

The EU Space Game is a kiosk where players match European satellites to their functions, in three languages, deployed at the European Commission’s Open Days. Experience Europe is a set of kiosks installed in a museum to let visitors discover Europe in an immersive way. In both cases, the interaction code was not the main challenge: it is everything around it that makes the difference. We share these lessons in Bornes interactives : ce qu'on apprend en les développant pour de vrais visiteurs (in French).

The right technology, not the most spectacular

Augmented reality, touch screens, 3D simulation: these technologies impress, which is precisely why they are so often added for no reason. Our first question is always about the context: the place, what moves, what stays in place, and what the visitor needs to understand. For digital twins, the question is the same in another form: what are we really trying to anticipate or optimise? The detail is in Jumeaux numériques : simuler avant de construire (in French).

Veden or DFD Interactive?

If the difficulty of your project is mostly about hardware, interaction design or a general-public use, that is DFD Interactive’s territory. If it is a website, a business application or an artificial intelligence integration, that is Veden’s. If in doubt, write to me: I will point you in the right direction, and either way, I am the one developing. The difference is explained in Un interlocuteur ou une équipe (in French).
